Greetings,

SVBF wishes all of you and your families a very happy, healthy and peaceful new year 2008.May the grace of Sri Sharadamba and the blessings of the Jagadguru be with you always.

We have made substantial progress in building the authentic Sharada Chandramouleeswara - Adi Sankara temple in Stroudsburg, PA. With the Grace of Sharadamba and blessings of His Holiness, we hope to inaugurate it in 2008. The priest quarters are complete and the temple work is progressing well with the steel structures in place. The roof is laid out and we expect to close the building within the next six weeks. This will allow work to proceed inside the temple during the cold winter months. In parallel, there is a lot of work associated with the vigrahas, sculptural artwork for the vimanams,pillars,windows and rajagopuram under different stages of completion in India. Some of them are ready for shipment and as soon as the shilpis arrive, they can start attaching to the base slab structure already erected. The work on the golden chariot is also getting completed in India and will be ready for shipment in the next few months.

Major modifications to the existing building are complete to enable its operation as a bhojana sala with the start of the new temple. The guesthouse is refurbished for the benefit of our devotees to visit the temple throughout the year.

It is Jagadguru's vision that this temple and the Sringeri Sadhana Center serve the needs of our devotees around the globe and become a leading institution for other Sringeri affiliates that come up in USA and other parts of the world.

With the direction from His Holiness, we seek sponsorship from our well-wishers ( individuals, groups,corporations,foundations etc.) in fulfilling the great task ahead and request our devotees to take advantage of the new temple and visit the same on a regular basis. We have obtained pledges for various items,however,there are still a lot of opportunities for devotees to sponsor the remaining ones and be proud to be part of building the temple and other facilities. Devotees can also contribute funds for the trust being setup that can act to supplement the operational expenses over the years.

We look forward to your participation and support in this noble and auspicious undertaking.
